The story behind Lexmed
Gemma studied Law at the University of Cambridge before building a career in healthcare leadership, holding senior leadership and management consulting roles across the UK, the Republic of Ireland and the Middle East.
Following her time as Managing Director of Private Care at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Gemma began working alongside consultant clinicians to build successful medico-legal practices.
Managing every stage of the medico-legal process—from the initial enquiry through to the delivery of the completed report—provided a unique perspective on the challenges faced by both consultant clinicians and legal professionals.
She recognised that many aspects of medico-legal practice could be organised more effectively.
This observation became the foundation on which Lexmed was built.
