Dr Hadi Manji is an internationally distinguished Consultant Neurologist, educator, and academic leader based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London, where he has served since 1997 and continues as Consultant Neurologist. He is also Honorary Associate Professor at University College London and has built a career spanning more than four decades in clinical neurology, medical education, and the global development of neurology services.

Educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and the Middlesex Hospital, Dr Manji initially trained broadly in general medicine and general practice before specialising in neurology. His clinical expertise encompasses general neurology, peripheral nerve disorders, movement disorders, neuroinfectious diseases, HIV neurology, encephalitis, and pandemic-related neurological complications. He is particularly recognised for his leadership in peripheral neuropathy services and neuroinfectious disease at Queen Square, where he has helped establish nationally-significant multidisciplinary teams for treatment of these conditions.

Dr Manji is widely regarded as an exceptional teacher and mentor. He is the senior editor and principal author of the Oxford Handbook of Neurology, one of the world's most widely used neurology training resources, with more than 22,000 copies sold internationally. His scholarly contributions include over 140 publications, major textbook chapters, and influential research on HIV neurology, COVID-19 neurology, and neuromuscular disease.

Beyond the UK, Dr Manji has made substantial contributions to neurology education and service development in Kenya, Mozambique, Iraq, India, Barbados, and other international settings, helping to train and develop future leaders in neurology worldwide. His leadership roles include President of the Royal Society of Medicine's Neurosciences Section and Chairman of the Medical Committee at the National Hospital.

In recognition of his outstanding service, Dr Manji received the Association of British Neurologists Medal for Services to National and International Neurology in 2022 and has also been awarded numerous other international honours, reflecting his reputation as a compassionate clinician, visionary educator, and leading figure in modern neurology.

Dr Manji has a growing medicolegal practice and can provide expert advice on breach of duty, causation, condition and prognosis. He takes direct instructions from solicitors and also works through a number of specialist medicolegal agencies.
