Dr James Wilson

Profile

Dr James Wilson is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic malignancies, skin cancers, oligometastatic disease and advanced cancer.

He practises exclusively in the independent sector and is recognised nationally for his expertise in advanced radiotherapy techniques, including stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) and proton beam therapy.

Dr Wilson graduated with Honours and Distinction in Medicine and subsequently completed a DPhil (PhD) at the University of Oxford. His specialist oncology training was undertaken at leading international institutions, including The Royal Marsden Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists, a Member of the Royal College of Physicians, and is listed on the General Medical Council Specialist Register for Clinical Oncology.

Throughout his career, Dr Wilson has held senior clinical and leadership positions within UK oncology services. He has extensive experience in the management of complex cancer cases and has been involved in the development of clinical pathways, service delivery and multidisciplinary cancer care. He is recognised as a national expert in SABR and has advised and mentored cancer centres across the UK in the implementation and development of specialist radiotherapy services.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Wilson has maintained a significant academic portfolio. He has held an Honorary Associate Professor appointment at University College London and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. He is a regular invited speaker at national and international scientific meetings and has contributed to the advancement of clinical oncology through research, education and professional leadership.

Dr Wilson's broad clinical, academic and leadership experience enables him to provide balanced, evidence-based opinions across a wide range of oncological matters.

Dr Wilson has undertaken Bond Salon expert witness training and can provide expert advice on breach of duty, causation, condition and prognosis and life expectancy.
