Dr Ravindhi Murphy

Profile

Dr Ravindhi Murphy is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, where she specialises in the management of colorectal cancer and acute oncology. She has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with both early-stage and metastatic malignancies, delivering systemic anti-cancer therapies including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted treatments within multidisciplinary cancer services. She also leads the rapid diagnostic cancer clinic at the Trust.

Dr Murphy graduated in Medicine from the University of Cambridge and completed specialist training in medical oncology through the Imperial College London training programme. She has trained at several leading London hospitals such as The Royal Marsden, Charing Cross Hospital and The Hammersmith Hospital. She holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and was awarded a PhD from the Institute of Cancer Research following a prestigious Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Fellowship. Her training has encompassed a broad range of tumour types, including colorectal, breast, lung, upper gastrointestinal, gynaecological, melanoma, urological and HIV-associated malignancies, providing her with comprehensive expertise across medical oncology.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Murphy has an active academic and research portfolio. She has held academic clinical fellowships sponsored by the National Institute for Health Care and Research (NIHR) and Cancer Research UK, combining her clinical work and research. She continues to work as a medical adviser at the Centre for Drug Development at Cancer Research UK. She serves as a Principal Investigator on several clinical studies and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading oncology journals. She has extensive experience in clinical trials, molecular oncology and the development of novel cancer therapeutics and regularly presents her work at national and international conferences.

Dr Murphy has a growing medicolegal practice and accepts instructions from solicitors and medical reporting agencies in cases relating to colorectal cancer. She can provide expert opinion on the diagnosis, investigation and management of colorectal cancer, standards of oncological care, treatment complications, causation, prognosis and the long-term consequences of cancer and its treatment.
