Dr Shalin Diwanji is a highly experienced Consultant Respiratory Physician and Clinical Director for Respiratory Medicine at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. His private practice is based at The Harley Street Clinic in Central London and The Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow.
Dr Diwanji specialises in all aspects of adult respiratory medicine, with extensive expertise in the diagnosis and management of conditions including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ("COPD"), asthma, bronchiectasis, respiratory infections, sleep disorders, respiratory failure, and lung cancer. He is particularly recognised for his work in managing complex respiratory disease and has played a pivotal role in developing specialist respiratory services within the NHS.
As Clinical Director, Dr Diwanji has been instrumental in establishing the Enhanced Respiratory Care Unit at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, providing advanced care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory failure. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team at the Trust, helping to deliver coordinated, high-quality care for patients with suspected and confirmed lung cancer.
A committed clinician-researcher, Dr Diwanji was awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2010 for his research into non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis. He remains actively involved in clinical research and is Principal Investigator for the PHOSP-COVID and RAPID studies at his Trust, as well as a Sub-Investigator for the TRIBE study.
Dr Diwanji is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and an active member of the British Thoracic Society and European Respiratory Society.
Alongside his clinical practice, he has developed a growing medicolegal practice and has completed Bond Solon Expert Witness training. He provides independent expert opinion in matters relating to breach of duty, causation, condition and prognosis, combining clinical expertise with a balanced, evidence-based approach.
