Mr Giuseppe Sforza is a highly respected Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery, including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Renowned for combining advanced surgical techniques with comprehensive non-operative care, he treats patients with traumatic injuries, degenerative conditions, and complex musculoskeletal disorders, focusing on restoring function and improving quality of life.

Born and trained in Italy, Mr Sforza graduated with honours in Medicine from the University of Bari and completed his orthopaedic training there. Early in his career, he expanded his expertise internationally through fellowships at Danderyd Hospital, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, and the Southern California Orthopaedic Institute, Los Angeles, focusing on shoulder arthroscopy and open shoulder surgery.

Between 1999 and 2000, he undertook a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the Reading Shoulder Unit at The Royal Berkshire Hospital, gaining advanced experience in upper limb procedures. He subsequently held senior roles in Italy, including Head of the Shoulder and Elbow Unit at Madonna delle Grazie Hospital and Policlinico di Bari, leading complex surgical programmes and developing innovative treatment pathways.

Since returning to the UK, Mr Sforza has worked in both NHS and private practice, and currently works from Fortius Clinic, London, Berkshire Independent Hospital and Spire Dunedin Hospital, Reading. He employs minimally invasive surgery, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and evidence-based rehabilitation to achieve optimal outcomes for patients.

A published author and international lecturer, he has contributed over 40 peer-reviewed articles and presented at more than 200 conferences worldwide. He is an active member of professional societies including the British Elbow and Shoulder Society, British Society for Surgery of the Hand, and European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

Mr Sforza is widely recognised for his technical expertise, research contributions, and compassionate patient care, making him a leading authority in upper limb orthopaedics.

He has undertaken Bond Solon expert witness training and has an expanding medicolegal practice, providing expert opinion on breach of duty, causation, condition, and prognosis. He accepts direct instructions from solicitors and works with a number of specialist medicolegal agencies.
