Mr Dunne is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and holds the role of Clinical Lead for Skin Cancer. Here, he is also the Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator for a number of international research trials. He works in the independent sector at King Edward VII Hospital and The Harley Street Clinic.

Mr Dunne is uniquely trained in all aspects of facial plastic surgery, and undertook international fellowships in Melbourne, Boston and Stockholm focusing upon minimally invasive facial skin cancer treatment (Mohs surgery), head and neck microvascular surgery, facial palsy and craniofacial surgery. His aesthetic training was undertaken in London, working alongside consultants within a number of London's leading private hospitals.

In addition to his skin cancer practice, Mr Dunne has extensive experience in the surgical management of trauma as part of the Trust's major trauma service, facial plastic surgery, wound management including extravasation injuries, burns, head and neck cancer reconstruction and chest wall wounds following cardiac surgery.

Mr Dunne maintains a keen academic interest and is also involved in education for the next generation of plastic surgeons. He has published more than 60 scientific articles and several book chapters primarily in the field of skin cancer and co-authored the Oxford Handbook of Head and Neck Anatomy. He is regularly invited to speak at international meetings on facial plastic surgery and skin cancer.

Mr Dunne is a trustee of the Malawi Burns Trust and is a member of the national committee for The British Foundation for International Reconstructive Surgery and Training.

Mr Dunne has undertaken Bond Salon expert witness training and can provide expert advice on breach of duty, causation, condition and prognosis. He currently undertakes c.25 reports per year. He takes direct instructions from solicitors and also works through a number of specialist medicolegal agencies.
