Professor Domenico Valenti is a highly accomplished Consultant Vascular Surgeon and University Professor of Vascular Surgery with over three decades of international clinical and academic expertise. He qualified in medicine in Italy in 1991 before undertaking comprehensive surgical training in both Italy and the United Kingdom, including prestigious appointments at St Mary's Hospital in London and the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Professor Valenti was appointed Consultant Vascular Surgeon at Mauriziano Hospital in Turin, Italy, in 1999, where he established a distinguished reputation in vascular and endovascular surgery. In 2007, he relocated to London, joining King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as Consultant Vascular Surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer. He also practices privately at leading London institutions, including The Bupa Cromwell Hospital and London Bridge Hospital.
His extensive surgical expertise spans the full spectrum of vascular procedures, with specialist interests in carotid artery surgery, aortic aneurysm repair, lower limb revascularisation, varicose vein surgery, vascular access for haemodialysis, and spinal exposure surgery. He is also an integral member of the emergency vascular and trauma surgery team.
A Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and the European Board of Vascular Surgery, Professor Valenti was awarded the Italian National Scientific Qualification in 2020 and appointed University Professor of Vascular Surgery.
Alongside his clinical practice, Professor Valenti is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England, an educator at King's College London Medical School, and a respected leader in professional vascular societies across Europe. He is a former President of the Vascular Access Society of Britain and Ireland and currently serves as medical advisor for surgery to the All-Party Parliamentary Kidney Group.
Professor Valenti has a growing medicolegal practice and can provide expert advice on breach of duty, causation, condition and prognosis. He takes direct instructions from solicitors and also works through a number of specialist medicolegal agencies.
